OLW57: Summer Holidays! (And a guest designer)

Hello there mousies,

Before we get to the challenge I have to apologise to the three people who are still waiting for their stamps.  We’ve been soooo busy here (with what precisely, I am unable to say).  All I know is I’ve had close to zero time for stamping and no time for commenting.  Yeah, I have to apologise for the lack of comments on the last challenge.  Not to worry, I will get to them…soon…ish.  And the stamps, they shall be mailed.  Before the snow flies, I promise.
And, Tiya-B, thank you for your lovely, lovely offer and comments.  I will take you up on your kind offer when we get back :)

And now, on to the challenge.

We are headed off on holiday shortly and this holiday involves sun (we hope), sand and ocean.  So, this week’s challenge is to create a card that is inspired by any or all of the following: summer, the beach, the sea, sun, sand, the lake, the cottage – pretty much anything that says summer and/or summer holidays.

The first card is by my fabulous guest designer, Aidan.  Aidan dabbles in stamping but probably considers himself
more of a drawing kind of guy.  His usual subjects are Wolf and Dahdah – characters in a series of stories he writes under the name of Dr Gus or any or all of the characters from Super Mario.

Today, he agreed to play along with the challenge.  Here is his card:

5. Most important of all…HAVE FUN!

6. If I have confused you, please feel free to leave a comment telling me so, or email me for clarification

I will try to catch up on comments on my previous challenge as well as comment on the current challenge, but we will have somewhat limited internet access while on holiday.  Super Susan will step in and try to comment if I can’t.
Susan has also kindly agreed to cover my challenge turn while we are away.

Jingle Belles 22 – We Three Kings

Yay, I finally got a chance to play along with Jingle Belles again!  The challenge this week is to make a Christmas card using three (or more) patterned papers.

OLW55: Cats and Dogs

Hello peeplets!

It is once again that time (already!) for an odd-numbered One-Layer Wednesday.

Another easy peasy one.  Make a one layer card with a dog or a cat on it (or both).

Card stock: PTI
Stamps: SU!
Ink: Memento, ColorBox
Technique: Masking
Wall: Hand drawn and coloured with Copics
Now, while I quite like the idea of this card, I’m a little disappointed in it’s execution.  I may well redo it
and fine-tune a few elements.

Edited to add:

I couldn’t leave comments on a few of your lovely cards, for the OLW53 challenge.
In four cases when I tried to leave comments I was directed to a sign up page for Blogger.
Some of you don’t have a profile option for me to select.  I don’t use Blogger and if you don’t have
the “Name/URL” option available, I either can’t leave a comment or I might appear as simply “Jennifer”
with no additional info.  Not sure what that’s all about.

Hello chicklets!

This week’s OLW challenge is nice and easy.  Make a one-layer “New Home” card using at least two different coloured inks.  That’s it.  That’s all.  No, really, there isn’t a catch :)

Stamps: SU!, Maya Road
Ink: Tumbled Glass, Barn Red – Ranger Distress inks

I did a little masking to create the square and triangle shapes, then stamped over them using an SU!

Jingle Belles #19 – Spirit of Christmas Past

This week over at Jingle Belles, the challenge was to make a vintage card.  I love vintage.  I love shabby chic.  I love busy cards.  Sadly, I don’t really know how to make them.  I feel perfectly at home with any kind of CAS challenge, but my other loves, I can’t quite do them justice.

Here is my attempt at a vintage card.
