It is on, it is on! I be back. And what better way to start the being-backiness than to do Susan‘s OLW74. Clicky to biggie. Card stock: PTI A very happy birthday to the queen of OLW! Have a great day Susan! Oh my goodness, real life intrudes again. Sadly, I will not be able to do OLW this week. I do hope to at least tidy up some loose odds and ends by next Wednesday. Hang in there
Good morning pumpkins Hope you all had a fun Halloween! This week’s OLW challenge is to make a tag…or two…or three. These were so easy-peasy, lemon squeezy! I used: Manilla tags: Staples So, let’s see some tags! A note about commenting. As you have probably noted, I have been remiss in my commenting. Each week, I will feature five cards on the blog from among the entries and comment on them here.
Good morning peeps. It’s been a house full of sickies these last two weeks and now it’s my turn. Boo! So, this is late and hurried. The theme for this week’s OLW is stripes. Yep, just that, stripes. Make a one-layer card incorporating stripes in some way. I will make my card once I stop coughing enough to hold a stamp steady Okies, I made one Card stock: water colour paper I stuck a Spellbinders square die on the front of my card, drew some stripes in blues and greens inside the square then
Hello ladies, October 2nd was the two year anniversary of my dad’s death from prostate cancer. October 4th was the one year anniversary of a young friend’s death from a different kind of cancer. Two women (that I know of) from our wonderful stamping and papercrafting community are also fighting their own battles with this despicable disease: Katie Renz and frequent OLW participant, Janelle. This week, the challenge is to make and send/deliver a “Thinking of You” card to someone who is struggling with any kind of battle. I would also like all participants to make a five dollar (or more!) donation to the cancer research/cause of their choice. You can donate to Katie’s family by going here. My husband Mark is participating in Movember this year in Memory of Jack Layton (a well-respected and well-loved Canadian politician who died of cancer in August). Should you wish to sponsor Mark, you can do so by going here. The above are only two possibilities. You can choose ANY cancer research/cause you like. Finally, you give, I give. I will randomly pick one person who has made a donation and send them a few goodies. Clickety to biggety. Card stock: Papertrey Ink – Vintage Cream 1. A one-layer card is defined as a single piece of cardstock folded in half. 2. Make a one-layer “Thinking of You” card and send it to someone who needs a boost. 3. Please share your creation by posting your card online and then using Inlinkz below to link to it. 4. Please make sure you are linking directly to the relevant post – not just to your blog. 5. Most important of all…HAVE FUN! 6. If I have confused you, please feel free to leave a comment telling me so, or email me for clarification 7. If you wish to post your creation to SCS, please use OLW67 as a keyword. And one last thing…please come back later for another post regarding commenting.
Hey there chickies! I bet you are all wondering who is the lucky winner of Krystie Lee‘s A Muse Studio goodies! Well, wonder no more! The winner is [insert drumroll here]…Carol B (#34) of The Inky Daisy. Congratulations Carol and thank you so much Krystie for your most generous prize! Carol, please email (jennifer[at]stylesink[dot]ca) me your details so I can pass them on to Krystie. Thank you all for playing along and submitting such lovely cards!
Howdy boys and girls! (Well, ok, probably just girls. Women in fact.) Sorry I’m late. I’m having a terrible time getting a decent picture of my card. I’m posting what I have and will try to get a better picture later. Usually when I make a card, the image is the main focus and if I add a sentiment at all it’s very small and simple. I do have several sets where the sentiments are larger and wordier but I hardly ever use them. It’s time I gave them a little more love. So, the challenge this week is to make a card where the sentiment is either the focus of the card or shares the focus equally with the image. Click it to big it. I used: Card stock: PTI – Vintage Cream 1. A one-layer card is defined as a single piece of cardstock folded in half. 2. Make a one-layer card using the sentiment as the main focus (or that shares the focus with image).
