Jingle Belles #19 – Spirit of Christmas Past

This week over at Jingle Belles, the challenge was to make a vintage card.  I love vintage.  I love shabby chic.  I love busy cards.  Sadly, I don’t really know how to make them.  I feel perfectly at home with any kind of CAS challenge, but my other loves, I can’t quite do them justice.

Here is my attempt at a vintage card.

Card stock: PTI
Patterned paper: Webster’s Pages
Stamp: SU! (paper pieced)
Ink: Memento, Ranger
Chipboard letters: Girl’s Paperie
Ribbon: Stash
Markers: Copic
Other: Stickles

  • I think you did vintage beautifully … the lace has such wonderful texture and your paper pieced little girl is adorable … thanks for joining us at jingle belles this week.

  • You did a fantastic job! I’m right there with you on these type of cards…love them but cant seem to figure out how to get the great looks everyone else does. I’m still trying to figure out what to do for the JB challenge! You provided some great inspiration with your card!

  • well, i don’t know of ANY reason why vintage style has to be done in a shabby chic/collagey kind of way? in fact, your very sweet and adorable C&S version is a pretty good argument for doing vintage in YOUR OWN style, imo! i’m loving that sweet little girl image, the gorgeous lace, and those alphabet tiles! awesome job here, all round! ♥

  • Well I think you can do vintage!! I really like this image, such a sweet little girl and I like the distressed edges! Great backing paper and I love the touch of lace!

  • Ah yes – very vintage indeed. Sweet image and great card for the challenge.
