One-Layer Wednesday 47: Sketch-o-mania

Hello cupcakes!

The last week has been a bit of a challenge.  I managed to get a pile of really terrible viruses and malware onto my computer and basically destroyed it.  Well, destroyed it as a Windows computer anyway.  My husband the computer geek and Windows hater did manage to save all my stuff and intalled Linux on my machine. I am without a couple of programs and am slowly getting used to the differences.  One of those programs I am without is Photoshop Elements.  I wasn’t exactly a pro at using it, but so far I haven’t been able to get my pictures to be as clear as before.

Anyway, on to the challenge.  This week it’s a sketch.

And here are my cards:

1. A one-layer card is defined as a single piece of cardstock folded in half.

2. Make a one-layer card based on the above sketch

3. Please share your creation by posting your card online and then using  Inlinkz below to link to it.

4. Please make sure you are linking directly to the relevant post – not just to your blog.

5. Most important of all…HAVE FUN!

6. If I have confused you, please feel free to leave a comment telling me so, or email me for clarification

7. If you wish to post your creation to SCS, please use OLW47 as a keyword.

Finally, I have to say that the cards you all came up with for the hex challenge were absolutely fantastic.  I loved them all and the super secret quantum physics and cheese formula had a tough time figuring out who got what present.

After several attempts it was finally determined that the presents will be distributed as follows:

Pressie #1 Birgit
Pressie #2 Oddesigns
Pressie #3 Tina

Please send me your snail mail addresses so I can get your stamps in the mail.

  • […] 30, 2011 Today the  one  layer wonder from Jeniffer was a sketch below… so I stamped the bird, then over stamped with yellow, masked the yellow […]

  • your challenges make me stretch.
thanks… hope your computer is back to normal soon, don’t know what I’d do without elements.

  • Thanks for a great sketch! I´ve added mine. Thanks for picking me for the prize! I´m so grateful and happy for it!

  • Hi Jennifer, so sorry to hear of your computer problems, I hate it when that happens, hope it’s sorted soon:0) Thanks for a great sketch this week , had me thinking! Funnily the problem for me was the outside border:0)
Love your examples very clean and simple and really pretty:0) xxx

  • Computer problems? Ick! Hopefully the Linux will work out. My sister is a big fan of it. Thank you for picking me to receive one of the stamp sets :) I saw the announcement first thing in the morning, and it was a great way to start the day. I so appreciate it, thank you!

  • Ooh..may have to make time this weekend to try this sketch out!

My husband “upgraded” my windows machine to linux mint earlier this year, and just like you, I’m still getting used to it (my printer still doesn’t play well with it). I wanted to mention to you for photo editing–it’s online and plays well with linux. Free for a lot of good tools and $25/year for awesome tools. It’s what I use for all my photos (I mean, I’m not saying I’m winning major awards with them or anything, but…). Here’s a tutorial I did on it: Hope it helps. :)

Sorry to hear about your computer meltdown. You’re lucky your husband was able to save it. Great sketch this week. I was stumped on what to make for my nephew’s birthday, and I saw this sketch and instantly knew what I wanted to do.

  • Ouch…sorry to hear that. We had two computers go down, thankfully, we had Carbonite to rescue all our files! It worked.
