Ok, here we are, all ready
My little guy got sick last week and wasn’t on the mend until Saturday…at which point, yep, you got it, I got sick.
We’re all good now, but the sickies put me a little behind.
I made this card before I got sick and I have to say, I just luuuuuurve it.
The challenge this week is to make a card using a bare tree, or bare vegetation of some kind – that means no leaves, no needles, no buds, no flowers. You can use as many images/sentiments/colours as you like, but you must use one plant image that is “bare”.
1. A one-layer card is defined as a single piece of cardstock folded in half.
2. Make a one-layer card using at least one “bare plant” image.
3. Please remember to keep embellishments to a minimum.
4. Please share your creation by posting your card online and then using Inlinkz below to link to it.
5. Please make sure you are linking directly to the relevant post – not just to your blog.
Some of you have been linking to your blog and not the relevant post; please make sure
you’ve got the link right. If you need help with this, please email me
6. Most important of all…HAVE FUN!
7. If I have confused you, please feel free to leave a comment telling me so, or email me for clarification ![]()
You have until next Tuesday at 11:59 pm EDT to submit your creations.

I luuuuurve this one too! Beautiful and totally inspiring.
I’m glad you are feeling better Jennifer and love the bold blue and the simplicity of a bare tree in the snow. This challenge put a smile on my face as there is nothing I like better than creating a scene with a bare winter tree in a snowy landscape!
Oh so glad you’re feeling better. LOVE the challenge and can’t wait to play!
So glad you’re feeling better Jennifer. I adore this challenge – inspiration came really quickly this time, in fact I may be back again later this week
I really like your tree card – there’s something so peaceful about bare trees.
Sorry to hear you were ill. It certainly goes around this time of year. I love this challenge. It was perfect for the sympathy cards I’ve got on my ‘to do’ list. Thanks!
Awesome challenge, Jennifer. So glad you’re feeling better.

Drat!! I had made some Moos for a Moo or two challenge which was Silhouettes .. and I had used some bare trees. So when I saw the OLW challenge I laughed and knew I could use one of the moos to make a card. But then, after making it I remembered that Susan and your challenges are ONE LAYER not Clean and Simple!! I think this is the 3rd time I’ve done this! WEll, off to the drawing board to try again and this time to make it ONE LAYER!!
Glad you and your little one are feeling better. I finally got to participate in this fun challenge. Love your card!
Thanks for your great challenge – I love to be inspired by your beautiful card.

[...] I had a chance to create something for the One Layer Wednesday Challenge, hosted this week by Jennifer. The challenge is to use a bare tree, bare branch or other vegetation just as long as it is bare. [...]
Thanks for the challenge Jennifer! Not sure why the thumbnail’s not working for me, I didn’t really make a card with a smiling frog rather than a bare tree, honest!
Sorry thumbnail link is closed but here is my link. Hugs x
