Card stock: Bazzill
Scrapbook paint: Making Memories
Punch: EK Success
Stamp: Papertrey Ink (text)
Ink: Colorbox chalk ink (Charcoal)
I used the punch to make a mask. I placed my mask over my card stock and painted a white heart through the opening.
When the paint was dry, I made a new mask and and lined it up over the white heart. Then I stamped the text.
I was going to type something else here, but then I realised, hey that’s it. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!
1. A one-layer card is defined as a single piece of cardstock folded in half.
2. Make a one-layer card using the colours red, black and white. Your card may be any theme.
3. Please share your creation by posting your card online and then using Inlinkz below to link to it.
4. Please make sure you are linking directly to the relevant post – not just to your blog.
5. Most important of all…HAVE FUN!
You have until next Tuesday at 11:59 pm EDT to submit your creations. Imaginary bonus points if you post a (clean) black and white
and red all over joke along with your card.

Wow this is a really clever card, it look fantastic! I must put my thinking cap on for this challenge Jennifer.

LOVE this – how innovative! I quickly looked at the challenge and then went to take the kids to school. At one point a thought popped into my head, “Jennifer made a two layer card for a OLW challenge!” – So I came home and looked again and actually read the post and it IS a one layer card! AMAZING!!
Great challenge. I thought it would be so easy…HA! Ah, well, that’s why it’s called a challenge! LOL!
Love your card…simply beautiful!
Thanks for a fun challenge! I´ve added mine.

I always have a hard time with colored bases when doing one-layer cards. Thank you for showing me a way to use color! I love the idea of painting an area!
My first visit here and what a nice site. I love the one layer cards for those times when there is no time. I shamelessly stamplifted from Lisa A #7 as I had never tried that technique before. I love it. Thanks Lisa.
love your card, thanks for the great challenge.
Hi Jennifer, love your card, didn’t realise how clever it was until I read the stages you’d been through to arrive at the finished piece. I can imagine the texture will show more IRL. Off to have a think about this challenge, Thank you for setting it:0) xx
Thanks Jennifer. This was a really tought challenge. Your card is amazing!
[...] easier said than done for this challenge. Red background, with black and white on a one layer card…. Did I mention how much I love [...]
Very cool Jennifer, love the white paint on the red. Thanks for another fun challenge!
Thanks for the Challenge, Jen. My wastebasket over runneth with the products of learning what doesn’t work on black card stock.
HA! My red photo’s as orange – sheez! Really, it is red! Thanks for the challenge~
Thanks for posting the one layer challenges here. I was sad to see them stop. I don’t always get a chance to play but I really enjoy this challenge and seeing what everyone else makes with JUST ONE LAYER. I find them really challenging to make! Just wanted to say thanks for hosting!
I really like this challenge. There are so many beautiful cards posted already. I knew exactly what I wanted to achieve – it’s almost there. Thanks, again for hosting OLW.
This was a fun challenge. Thank you!
A wonderful colour combination and a great challenge!
