How honoured am I to be hosting this week’s OLW Challenge? Very!
Also, I squeeeeeed. You know, like this: Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
When I read that Susan wasn’t able to do an OLW challenge this week I cried. Then I consoled myself with chocolate. Then I started to write an email. Then I deleted it.
Finally, I wrote it and sent it. What could happen other than being refused. Rejected. Fired.
Oh, wait, scratch that last one.
Susan has kindly allowed me to host this week’s OLW challenge. And next week’s. And the week after that.
Fear not however, Susan will be back in all her clean-and-simple-one-layer-Wednesday-Late-Blossom-y glory and goodness on November the third. After that, we will alternate weeks so that yes, there will be a OLW every week! Yay o yay!
I told Susan I wouldn’t have much to say. Looks like I lied.
I suppose you would like to know what the actual challenge is. Are you still with me?
This week’s challenge is to create a winter holiday card using any colour card stock for your base EXCEPT: white, cream, red or green.
For my three cards, I first stamped a square with SU! Whisper White craft ink and heat set it. I then stamped the snowflake in silver ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Easy, peasy lemon squeezy!
Card stock: Turquoise – Bazzill, Pink – A Muse, Blue – Bazzill
Ink: White square – SU! Whisper White craft ink, Silver Snowflake – Tsukineko Encore – silver
Stamps: Square – Savvy Stamps, Snowflake – Martha Stewart, Sentiments – Hero Arts
Embossing powder: Stampendous – clear
1. A one-layer card is defined as a single piece of cardstock folded in half.
2. Make a winter holiday card using any colour card stock for your base EXCEPT white, cream, red or green. Got that? No white, no cream, no red, no green.
3. Please share your creation by posting your card online and then using Mr Linky below to link to it.
4. Please make sure you are linking directly to the relevant post – not just to your blog.
5. Most important of all…HAVE FUN!
And you know what? For my inaugural OLW challenge, I think there should be a little prize. Wait, make that TWO little prizes!
This challenge will close at 11:59 pm EDT on Tuesday, October 19 and I will post my favourite card and my son’s favourite card on my blog on Thursday, October 21.
