2 Sketches 4 U

2s4uk38

Here is my card for Kazan’s Sketch #38

If you click it, it will big it.

I usually follow sketches quite literally – probably too literally.

This time, I went a little nuts.  I turned the sketch 90 degrees to the right and then took a few liberties with it.  But, the very general idea of the sketch is still there.  Really.  Heh.

I really like this card except for one thing [ PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE  feel free to make a suggestion].  You’ll notice (how could you NOT notice) the three black rhinstones are there to indicate the time and date – 7:00pm, February 14 – Valentine’s day.  Get it? Do ya, do ya, do ya, huh?  Well I tried a few different embellishments before I settled on the rhinestones.  Sadly, the rhinestones aren’t quite right either – very distracting.  So, any suggestions if I were to re-make the card?  How would you note the time and date?

Cardstock: PTI
Patterned paper:  Collage Press
Chipboard: SU!
Rhinestones: Queen & Co
Letter U: Queen & Co
Brads: Joann
Letter I: made using my Cricut (several are glued together to give it more dimension)

  • You know, if you wouldn’t have pointed it out – I would have not noticed how strongly the rhinestones pop off the background.
The idea is fabulous though and I can see your dilemma…hmmmm, what about stitching with white or light blue embroidery floss in small circles around the date and time? i can imagine this to look quite subtle but yet your eye will be drawn to it.
Or, instead of the black rhinestones, use white pearls?

Whatever you decided in the end, I DO like your take on the sketch a lot!

  • Lovely take on the sketch and I think Kim has some good idea’s but your take on the sketch is great the way it is. Thank’s for playing at 2sketches4you.
